League of Legends was the top-earning digital game of 2015 according to research group SuperData.
The online MOBA from Riot Games brought in $1.628 billion during the year. The game that came closest to competing with League of Legends was mobile game Clash of Clans, which totaled $1.345 billion.
On consoles, the top digital game was Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, bringing in $355 million for Activision throughout the year.
“The top-ranking titles offer a market picture in which Activision currently dominates,” SuperData’s report says. “Earning the firm $2.9 billion in 2015, Activision controlled six of the 30 top spots across platforms, including the titles that came under its ownership following the acquisition of King Digital late last year. Supercell takes the number two position overall with $1.6 billion in earnings across its titles in the top 10.”
