New weapons and ships available now for Star Citizen's 2.1 alpha build
The development team over at Cloud Imperium Games have finally put out a new 2.1 build for Star Citizen after recently giving testers a go of the alpha last year. This build features a great deal of bug fixes as well as new weapons and ships to purchase and use in the game. The continued feedback and support from testers will prompt future builds such as these that will help to optimize and fine tune the final game. The entire update patch notes can be found here.The most notable changes are the two new ships: the MISC Freelancer and the Aegis Vanguard Warden, both of which are 'hanger-ready' and will cost a pretty penny. You can purchase these ships outright or earn them within the game. On top of these ships, there's a new weapon: the Apocalypse Arms Revenant ballistic Gatling Gun. It is classified as a 'size 4' weapon and can only be mounted on the Vanguard, Constellation, Cutlass and Hornet type ships.

Star Citizen is still undergoing waves of tests and alpha production, however the game is still slated for a 2016 release. With no solidified release date, the scores of backers and testers who have already supported the game will no doubt help forge a more polished game as time goes on.
