With J.J. Abrams at the helm, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has taken the franchise and launched it back into the hearts of people everywhere. While most people are happy with how things have turned out under the guide of Disney, there are some who would like to see a return of the original creator.
George Lucas, who created Star Wars and directed four installments to the series, including A New Hope, is now the subject of an online petition to get him back into the directors chair. A fan from Brazil has started a petition to get Lucas to direct the upcoming Episode IX as a great conclusion to the new trilogy. As of this article, there are already over 7,000 supporters to the cause.
As of now, Colin Trevorrow is slated to direct Star Wars Episode IX. Could this petition urge George Lucas to come back to the series he created and loved so dear? Only time will tell.
