It’s been over five years since the last Chronicles of Narnia film has graced theaters with 2010’s The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, but a new Chronicles film is on the horizon as producer Mark Gordan announced that The Silver Chair is on its way.
Gordan, who was speaking at the TCA press tour, said that they’re “hoping to be able to make [The Silver Chair] very shortly. We’re very excited about it.”
The Silver Chair is the fourth book in the series and takes place fifty years after the events of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Even though The Silver Chair will be considered a sequel to the third film, it will be a complete reboot for the franchise.
“It’s all going to be a brand new franchise,” Gordon told Collider, “All original. All original characters, different directors, and an entire new team that this is coming from.” Gordon clarified that the new characters would come “from the world” of Narnia.
The Silver Chair follows Eustace Scrubb, the cousin of the Pevensie siblings, as he goes back to Narnia with classmate Jill Pole to rescue Prince Caspian’s (now King Caspian) son Prince Rilian. Who would you like to see as the new Chronicles of Narnia cast? Sound off in the comments below.
