Earlier today it was spotted that The Witcher 2 is currently free on Xbox 360, leading some to scratch their heads as to why. Since it first popped up however, Microsoft has announced, The Witcher 2 is officially joining its backwards compatibility program and will be free until February 5th.
You don’t need a gold membership or even an Xbox 360 to grab it either. If you are a recent Xbox One owner and have been curious about the events leading up to this year’s massive The Witcher 3, login to your Xbox account and pick up the game on the marketplace here. It will then be available on your Xbox One.
The Witcher 2 released back in 2011 and was even free with Games with Gold in January 2015. The Witcher 3 released this past year and took the top spot in Gamespresso’s top 10 games of 2015. Will you be grabbing The Witcher 2? Let us know in the comments.
