Ark: Survival Evolved hasn’t seen a patch on consoles in awhile, and the reasons are pretty unknown at this moment in time.
It could be because the PC is their main focus, and the console versions are a port version. It could be harder to develop for the consoles, or their might be a fee on the Xbox One for updating. We do know that Microsoft dropped the update fee in April 2013 for the Xbox 360, but we don’t know if that carried over to Xbox One.
With all that in mind, the Xbox One is finally getting an update to the game. The update will bring the Xbox One version up to date with PC version 233, fixes bugs, improves framerate, and introduces multiplayer split-screen.
Studio Wildcard took to Twitter to preview the update for Ark, and included a picture with some notes. More are coming at a later date.
