Multiplayer title H1Z1 is about to split into two separate titles according to developer Daybreak Game Company.
On February 17th, the original H1Z1 will be named H1Z1: King of the Kill, while its counterpart will be named H1Z1: Just Survive.
King of the Kill will act as a multiplayer arena shooter and will exit early access on the above mentioned date. The title will remain on PC, but is also planned to arrive on Xbox One and PS4 later this summer.
Just Survive will remain in early access and will be more oriented toward the open-world multiplayer aspects of the title with a focus on crafting and surviving.
Both titles will cost $19.99 and will still feature microtransactions for supplies or special features and events.
“We have received feedback from our community,” Jens Anderson, executive creative director at Daybreak explains, “and they’ve pointed out that these are really two different games, that they are very much stand-alone concepts that have two different audiences. There will be two separate development teams supporting H1Z1: Just Survive and H1Z1: King of the Kill, and both of these teams will really be able to tool up and focus on the needs of the players of each of those titles.”
