Though its release is only weeks away, Hitman, the next installment in the franchise of the same name, will receive a second beta. But this time it will be exclusive to PS+ members.
Starting March 4th and running through the weekend, the beta will be open to all PS+ members. It will include the prologue of the game, just like the first beta held earlier this month. The first beta was exclusive to those that had pre-ordered the game.
To celebrate the announcement, IO Interactive also released the opening cinematic of the game, which can be seen above. Posting on the PlayStation Blog, “The Legacy Cinematic bridges that twenty-year gap between the end of the Prologue and the Sanguine Fashion Show in Paris.”
Hitman will be the first episodic Triple-A game, with the first episode releasing March 11th, and subsequent episodes releasing in the months after. Coming under fire for the decision to make the game episodic, IO studio head Hans Seifert explained, “Releasing [the game] in this way opens us up to so many more opportunities then we’ve had in the past. Those opportunities apply to the players and us as developers.”
