French developers Cyanide Studio, of the recent Blood Bowl, has recently released two screenshots from their latest game, Call of Cthulhu.
From the game’s Facebook page: “H.P Lovecraft’s twisted universe comes to life in Cyanide’s Call of Cthulhu. Uncover the dark mysteries of a mysterious island in this RPG-Investigation game with psychological horror and stealth mechanics.”
A report by VG 24/7 says that Call of Cthulhu is running on Unreal Engine 4 and is based on the long-running tabletop RPG Call of Cthulhu by Chaosium. Cyanide CEO Patrick Pligersdorffer also told VG 24/7 that the game is an investigation of the “truth behind the death of an acclaimed artist and her family.”
The last time a game running under the H.P. Lovecraft name was released was in 2005, titled Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. Call of Cthulhu will release sometime during 2017 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
