Amiibo has proven to be a great seller, with 21.5 million cards and 20.5 million figures sold worldwide; Super Mario Maker and Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer also sold well, with 3.34 million and 2.93 million units sold. Splatoon was the largest seller over the past nine months, selling a whopping 4 million copies – more sales than Bloodborne and The Order: 1886 combined.
Nintendo has faith that it will make the financial forecast in 2016, with The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD and Mario & Sonic at the Rio Olympic Games releasing soon. The 20th anniversary of the Pokemon series will also see Pokemon Red and Blue re-released, along with a new 3DS bundle.
Outside of this and arguable the most anticipated product coming from Nintendo will be the NX console, with Tatsumi Kimimshima assuring investors that it’s well underway.
More news on the NX should be available by E3 this year.
