Overwatch closed beta is back for more lovin'
The beta is up and running again for Blizzard's upcoming first-person shooter, Overwatch. With this return are various new treats for people to play with, even if they had gone through the entire first closed beta. This new wave now features a new game mode, two more maps, a Training mode and a whole new 'progression' system. As part of the progression system, players will now be able to 'level up', each time the player levels up, they'll also receive a 'loot box' which will give the owner some cosmetic items. These vary from emotes, sprays, character skins, voice packs, sprays and character animations. Supposedly, as you level up, the loot should inevitably have a higher chance to net you better items. Though that could just be gambler's fallacy at work.

The new maps add “Lijiang Tower” and “Nepal” to the map rotation. Lijiang Tower consists of a tower that sits at the center of a bustling metropolis in China with lots of tight corners and strategical locations to get to cover under. Nepal is a bit more open and takes place in an abandoned monastery surrounded by mountain villages and the like.
Finally, the new game mode is ‘Control’ which is an extended version of ‘Capture the Point’. As teams take points and win rounds, new locations and areas of the map open up to allow varied battlefields. The win goes to the team who wins the best-out-of-three. You can check out the rest of the changes in this beta here.
Overwatch will be released on Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One around the first or second quarter of 2016. The closed beta is still in progress and invites are still be put out, cross your fingers if you want to get in!
