Even though their success rate is not very high, video game franchises often get made into films for the big screen. As each new one is made, their is hope from fans that it will change the trend. Now, fans of Sonic the Hedgehog will face this challenge themselves.
In an interview with World Folio, Sega has confirmed that it is teaming up with Sony to put a Sonic the Hedgehog movie in the works. It will feature a combination of live action and animation. Not much more on the title is known, other than the fact that this part of Sega’s plan to rebrand themselves and come out strong within the next couple of years. Let’s hope the Blue Blur can be the hero mascot he was in the past.
As of now, this Sonic the Hedgehog movie is slated for 2018. More will be determined as the year comes closer.
