The company is planning on meeting with dozens of investors on top of the government. The investors are to fend off a hostile takeover from media company Vivendi SA. Vivendi is based in France, and made an unsolicited bid towards Gameloft.
According to analysts based in Europe, the bid is a ploy to force Yves Guillemot and his brothers into talking with them. Yves Guillemot is the Chief Executive for Ubisoft.
The company has strong ties to Canada, with one of their larger offices being based in Montreal. At the moment they employ 3,000 in Canada alone. They recently announced that they plan on releasing fewer, bigger titles that will improve the health of the company overall.
