Battleborn is Gearbox Software’s first original IP since Borderlands. We all know how successful that franchise has turned out to be. Now, the new first person shooter and MOBA has gone gold. The future is looking bright for this innovative title.
While Battleborn is only a few short months away from its full release, Gearbox and 2K games, the publishers, have already laid out post-launch details. The title already starts with 25 unique playable characters, but the developer intends to give away 5 more, completely free. The first of these downloadable characters, Alani will be instantly unlocked with her release for those participate in the PS4 beta. “And that’s just the beginning of many free updates we’re planning,” 2k Games stated. “Competitive multiplayer modes, maps, balance updates, and community features will also be free.”
There will also be five paid DLC packs that will add story operations, character skins, and taunts. These will be $4.99 each. You can also get them all for $19.99 with the season pass. If you are really thinking ahead, you can get the special bundle that includes the base game, the season pass, and some extra content, all for $74.99.
Battleborn will be released on May 3rd for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
