According to one of Techradar’s unnamed sources, Grand Theft Auto VI has begun development.
It’s been three years since Grand Theft Auto V was first released, and since then loads of DLC support has also arrived. It doesn’t look like the online scene for Grand Theft Auto is losing steam anytime soon, and Grand Theft Auto VI might help the community pick up even more fans.
No location has been settled on yet, and the source has also revealed that Rockstar takes preliminary trips o proposed locations before making a final decision.
In fact, Grand Theft Auto: Tokyo was almost a thing. Around the time that Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City released, Rockstar took a trip to Tokyo to decide whether it would be a good location or not.
According to the source, Rockstar was very serious about placing a game in Tokyo; the road system “proved to be problematic” and the game was then canned.
