Metal Gear Online Cloaked in Silence DLC gets a release date

When the newest Metal Gear Online DLC was detailed early last month, it was revealed gamers would get their hands on it in March. Konami has now told us precisely when. Cloaked in Silence will release on March 15th.The title of a collective DLC campaign, Cloaked in silence adds Quiet as a playable character, three new maps, and introduces “Appeal Actions” (emotes) to the game. Quiet and the maps can be purchased together, while multiple Appeal Action Packs will then also be available separately.

When the newest Metal Gear Online DLC was detailed early last month, it was revealed gamers would get their hands on it in March. Konami has now told us precisely when. Cloaked in Silence will release on March 15^th.

The title of a collective DLC campaign, Cloaked in silence adds Quiet as a playable character, three new maps, and introduces “Appeal Actions” (emotes) to the game. Quiet and the maps can be purchased together, while multiple Appeal Action Packs will then also be available separately.

The three maps include:

• Coral Complex: A dedicated Motherbase environment, allowing players to access tall towers and use storage containers and other internal areas as cover for tactical advantage. Coral Complex mixes open areas and a myriad of hiding opportunities.
• Rust Palace: Set within Afghanistan, the Rust Palace is a large multi-level building. The skeletal nature of the decrepit ruin means that cover is scarce, while the internal areas are rich in dusty rooms and high-up sniping positions.
• Azure Mountain: An outdoor plain under Africa’s baking sky. A small cluster of buildings offers scant cover, with only derelict walls and occasional scrubland surrounding the massive rock known locally as the Cradle of Spirits.

The DLC also includes unlimited access to a new mode announced for April 7^th. In Survival, as it’s called, “teams of players compete for the highest win streak to achieve greater rewards. All players can try out the new maps for free in Survival matches up to 10 times per week,” while those that have purchased the DLC will have no limit.

A free update will also introduce a new game mode in March, called Sabotage. “Attackers must destroy or fulton an enemy missile before the round expires; but to access the missile, attackers must first hack into the Terminals to deactivate the Electromagnetic (EM) Barrier that is protecting it. Once the Terminals are hacked and the EM Barrier is deactivated, defenders can choose to reactivate the Barrier or protect the Missile.”
