For us (original) 3DS owners, we’re a tad bit salty about the announcement of the New Nintendo 3DS getting some great SNES titles for Virtual Console. As announced in the Nintendo Direct earlier in the week, many titles from the SNES era will be making the jump. The move onto the New 3DS will allow the ‘Perfect Pixel Mode’ function, which allows the game to be played in its original resolution.
The very first SNES VC titles are already out and they include Pilotwings, Super Mario World and F-Zero. Following from then, on March 24th, Super Mario Kart, EarthBound and Donkey Kong Country will be unlocked for purchase. Finally, April 14th will see the release of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Metroid and Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong’s Quest.
All of these games are solid titles from the SNES days and are very much worth picking up to play them on the fly.
