Joining the host of free games already offered through the service, The Banner Saga, the Viking-inspired fantasy tactics game, is the latest to join the Origin’s EA Access Vault.
EA announced the news over Twitter, saying, “Origin Access Members, sharpen up your tactics. The Banner Saga joins the Vault on April 5.”
Some of the other games already offered include Dragon Age: Inquisition, Battlefield 4, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, and multiple EA Sports titles. For $4.99 a month, players receive access to all these games, as well as a 10% discount on purchases and access to select pre-release betas and trial periods.
Half turn-based tactics game, half visual novel, we loved The Banner Saga, our review saying, “The Banner Saga feels like the first book in a grand epic of fantasy storytelling… With a world that feels like it truly has weight, with more history and detail than you’d ever expect, the scope, ambition, and raw emotion of Stoic’s narrative is only surpassed by gigantic AAA games like Dragon Age and The Witcher.”
Stoic recently announced Banner Saga 2 will hit PC April 19, with a console version set to follow later this year.
Is The Banner Saga enough to convince you to maybe try out EA Access? Or is the service still just not doing it for you? Let us know in the comments.
