With Hearthstone introducing a standard format, it feels a little strange to be seeing nerfs coming to the classic set. (Even if it was announced alongside the standard format)
In a new blog post on the Hearthstone website, Blizzard has detailed what cards will be getting nerfed, and how. The cards all fall into either the Druid, Neutral, or cards with silence & removal. These were some of the most powerful cards in the Classic version of the game, excluding Legendaries.
For the Druid, Ancient of Lore, Keeper of the Grove, and Force of Nature will all be getting nerfed. The next category is silence & removal, with Ironbeak Owl, Big Game Hunter, Hunter’s Mark, and Blade Flurry all getting nerfed.
For the Neutral minions they are nerfing Knife Juggler, Leper Gnome, Arcane Golem, Molten Giant, and Master of Disguise.
The nerfs range from effecting attack to the cost of the card. Perhaps the most upsetting nerf is getting Leper gnome only 1 attack instead 2. Although the card was powerful, it was always fun to see him in play so much. It’ll be interesting to see how that small change will effect his presence in the game.
