Naughty Dog has made it clear that with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the studio is finished making games for the series and for Nathan Drake.
However, creative director Neil Druckmann has stated that while it would be “really hard” to create another Uncharted after A Thief’s End, he wouldn’t mind playing a game in the series that was created by another developer, granted they captured the right tone for the series.
“If they made a great game I’d be excited,” he told GamesRadar. “I’d want to play an Uncharted I didn’t work on. It’d be a lot of fun.”
However, Druckmann added that Naughty Dog would still most likely have some hand in the project.
“Obviously we would have a big part in it as the creators of the franchise,” he said. “We’d just want to make sure they get the essence of it right. If there’s a studio that can do that, then great. If not, then it’s okay that this is the last one.”
