Even though the evidence is there, a Wired interview reveals that From Software director Hidetaka Miyazaki doesn’t believe a player beat Dark Souls without being hit.
“I don’t believe the player who says he completed the original Dark Souls without taking a hit—it would be amazing but I think it’s just an elaborate rumor,” Miyazaki told Wired. “Some of the stuff the community has done, collaborating on Twitch, or playing with Guitar Hero controllers, is incredible though.”
He does admit to being both surprised and glad to see the inventive ways players have been trying to beat Dark Souls, although he never intended on including parameters that encourage creative ways of beating the game.
The full interview also describes Miyazakis view on a class system, the differences between each game, and the future of the Dark Souls universe.
From Software’s next game, Dark Souls III, will release on April 12th for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
