With a few hiccups in the Oculus Rift’s launch, many people still haven’t received their VR headsets yet. Palmer Luckey, founder of Oculus, originally posted on Twitter a tentatively updated schedule, stating that there’d be “future updates” on the subject.

When asked a few days later concerning more information on the delivery dates, Luckey responded with a screenshot of the above Tweet.

He also responded to comments on the shipping delays on their subReddit. One particular comment was stating that Luckey’s higher-ups in Oculus are forcing him to hold back information, preventing him responding to specific questions on the delivery date. Luckey denied such an accusation.

Don’t shunt blame to other people, this is my call. I am not going to wax poetic about this, since I have done so in the past, but bottom-line: I won’t give in-depth updates on any situation without knowing it is solid, true, and finalized. Until I can do so, the best I can do is remind people that I will get them information as quickly as I can.

On the rare occasions when things still change, even when they change for reasons out of my control, I get crucified anyway. Sometimes that means updates have to wait until things get locked down, and sometimes that means waiting a little longer to give everyone good info.

How do you think the Rift’s rocky start has been? Do you think Oculus is doing enough for their customers who are still waiting for their devices? Sound off in the comments!
