Persona 5 is counting down to something next month
Originally meant to release last year, fans have been eagerly awaiting even the slightest hint of when Persona 5 will finally see the light of day. Turns out ‘the slightest hint’ might be a little too literal however. A timer has appeared on the Persona 5 website, counting down to May 5. The only other text is the phrase “Take Your Heart,” a reference to the focus of the game, removing the ill intent from the hearts of others.Reports surfaced early last year pointing to Persona 5 releasing before the end of 2015. Last September however, Atlus delayed the game into 2016, still without giving the title an official release date. While it's unlikely Persona 5 will release at the end of the countdown (though it would be particularly poignant given the fifth day of the fifth month timing) perhaps we will finally have an announcement of an official release date.

Like the previous games in the series, Persona 5 will blend a turn-based RPG with a social simulator. Players work their way through a year in the life of a group of Japanese high school students. Those students just also happen to be able to summon pieces of their psyche, known as personas.
Persona 5 is set to release on PS3 and PS4. As we learn more about the game, including what’s coming May 5, you’ll find it right here on Gamespresso. What are your theories? Let us know in the comments.
