With all the massive games coming this year, it would be easy to forget Titanfall 2 is just around the corner. As a nice little reminder though, Respawn has released the most teasing of teaser trailers for the sequel.
“People like you always want to be the hero,” a voice over says. “The problem with being a hero is, you have to be willing to die for what you believe in.”
The trailer certainly doesn’t show much, but we do get a look at a drop pod, a titan’s leg, and a pretty awesome sword. The trailer ends with, “Worldwide Reveal June 12.”
For those not marking their calendars until E3, June 12 is the beginning of EA Play, the publisher’s separate event running alongside E3. In January, EA announced they would not be attending or hosting a booth at the expo. Not missing the chance to make some big splashes however, the publisher will still be holding its own E3-style conference, but will do so offsite, on Sunday June 12, starting at 1 PM PT. Look for all the details on Titanfall 2 to come out then.
Back in February, the game’s lead writer talked about what we can expect in the way of a singleplayer campaign. “So we are doing our best to deliver a vision of grand global colonial warfare retelling the story of the American Revolution and the American Civil War in space,” he explained. “What inspires us is the junction of technological advancement with the inevitability of conflict and war and what the next war might look like. In Titanfall 2 there will be a lot of [scenes] where science meets magic, but keeping it grounded and dirty and human and real.”
What do you think of the small glimpse we get in the teaser trailer? Did the wait for June just get that much harder? Let us know in the comments.
