A new development studio is being started up in the Philippines by Ubisoft. Their doors plan to open in the second quarter of 2016 and will staff around 50 people.
The new studio will be involved with AAA game development and be headed by Chip Go. He commented on the opening of Ubisoft’s newest studio:
“Every day, Filipinos leave the country in search of opportunities elsewhere,” Go said. “I was one of those people eight years ago, and now I’m very happy to come back and bring my own experience in AAA game development.”
Ubisoft Philippines will be located just south of Manila, on De La Salle University’s campus in Santa Rosa. They’ll also have close ties with Ubisoft Singapore, who are involved with training recruits. Applications are now being accepted for the latest studio.
