The exploit in question is connected to the Falcon Lost Incursion, the new endgame activity added in a free update last week. Soon after it released, players found a way to glitch into the arena without spawning any enemies. Without enemies to fight, players then simply walk up to the non-functional boss, in this case an APC, deal damage until it’s destroyed, and then claim the loot. In all, the process can be repeated multiple times with very little effort, leading many players to now have maxed out gear.
The exploit is so universal at this point, players have reported being kicked from groups for not using it and feeling compelled to do so just to keep up in regards to the PvP-centric endgame activity, the Dark Zone.
