Developer DICE may be releasing free DLC for Battlefield 1 after the game launches in October.
Pre-order incentives listed for the upcoming title on Origin include early access to what is being called a “free map drop.” Another retailer, Amazon, states that the map will be released in 2016, which means it should drop not long after the game releases. While this is not a confirmation of further free DLC, it is a step in the right direction.
This is not the only bit of free DLC being released for a Battlefield title. Electronic Arts recently announced a promotion that will offer gamers free DLC for Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline. Battlefield 4’s Dragon Teeth expansion and Battlefield Hardline’s Robbery expansion are available for free right now. The promotion does hint at more free DLC coming soon.
Battlefield 1 will release on October 21st. The game will release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The game was officially announced last Friday with an official trailer.
