More than a few players of Fallout 4’s latest DLC, Far Harbor, have been experiencing performance issues with the frame rate. Players have reported that some areas in Far Harbor have caused the frame rate to stutter.
Bethesda responded on the official forum that they “Made optimizations based on the Far Harbor beta feedback, but understand some people are experiencing issues,” They also followed on to say; “We are actively working on more improvements. As we have news and information, we’ll update this post. Thank you for playing Fallout 4.”
Discussions over at Reddit have pointed to the fog as a possible cause for the issue, but the exact cause is still unknown. Beware when following the link as some users have complained of spoilers for the DLC storyline.
If you haven’t checked it out for yourself, Far Harbor sees players venture to an island off the coast of Maine, working a case for the Valentine Detective Agency. You can find the trailer here.
Far Harbor is available now on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and is touted as “the largest landmass for an add-on that Bethesda Game Studios has ever created” including: new faction quests, dungeons, weapons, armour and lethal creatures the likes of which you only see in a nightmare. Have fun.
