During an investor’s earnings call, EA CFO and executive vice president Blake Jorgensen lets on about what the company has in the works. “We do have a new IP coming next year. We haven’t yet announced it, but it’s something that you’ll see probably coming up soon,” he says.
Even if the game doesn’t release until 2017, next month’s E3 would be a likely place for us to see an initial announcement. EA is hosting its own event during E3, called EA Play.
During the same call, Jorgensen not only confirms Battlefront 2 is in the works, but speaks to how EA is investing over the next few years. “We’re making broad investments that fuel the growth of the company well beyond fiscal 2018 and 2019. Really today we’re building an action genre product that’s probably in our fiscal 2020 or 2021, as well as action-oriented games around the Star Wars genre.”
The publisher just recently revealed the next Battlefield game, Battlefield 1, to a widely positive response. As we learn more about the future of EA, you’ll find it all right here on Gamespresso.
