After Hello Games’ Sean Murray revealed last week that upcoming PS4/PC title No Man’s Sky would be delayed from June 21st to August 9th, he reportedly received numerous death threats from gamers who were upset about the extended time until the game’s release.
“I have received loads of death threats this week, but don’t worry, Hello Games now looks like the house from Home Alone,” Murray tweeted. “Tell me when its safe to remove the marbles and oil from the stairs. It’s getting really cumbersome, and I need the toilet”
Murray posted on the PlayStation Blog last week to address the delay, stating the team needed a few weeks to reach the high standards the team was shooting for.
“As we approached our final deadlines, we realized that some key moments needed extra polish to bring them up to our standards, Murray said. “I have had to make the tough choice to delay the game for a few weeks to allow us to deliver something special.”
No Man’s Sky will now launch on August 9th in North America, on August 10th in Europe, and in the UK on August 12th.
