For a while, it seemed that Prey 2 might just become another Half Life 3. A game ever-present on older gamers’ minds, and always on some developer’s thoughts to start making. But the progress would never fully start, and those waiting in anticipation would be forever on hold.
However, word has surfaced that Dishonored developer Arkane might be developing Prey 2. The source comes from a Tweet posted by the It would be most likely that it would be announced on June 12th during Bethesda’s E3 presser. While the rumors at first seemed off, the rumor was strengthened when the Prey 2 website domain now only goes to a Prey 2 Facebook page.
“It was a game we believed in, but we never felt that it got to where it needed to be—we never saw a path to success if we finished it,” said Pete Hines, Bethesda’s VP of PR and marketing. “It’s a franchise we still believe we can do something with—we just need to see what that something is.”
The last time Prey 2 was announced to being in the works, the title would’ve released sometime in early 2013, but was put on delay until 2014, when the game was somewhat officially canceled. Since then, though, word’s been silent on any sort of development.
June 14th will announce the new Prey game by Arkane Studios! Will it be a game you wonder why they called it Prey? #prey #prey2
