Released back in late January this year, Resident Evil 0 HD managed to sell 800,000 copies for Capcom. According to the released financial report, this only accounts for the digital copies of the game, meaning the amount could very well be nearing one million copies.
Furthermore, according to the report, the success of this HD ‘remastering’ was so favorable that the company wants to utilize this more with even more of their library of old IPs and games. With that alongside the 20th anniversary for the Resident Evil franchise, Capcom hopes to really push the series during the latter half of the year in the hopes to celebrate it’s longevity.
The anticipated titles for the series are very exciting to say the least. From the announced remake for Resident Evil 2 last year, the news that Resident Evil 7 will be returning to its roots and the remastering of Resident Evil 4 and 5 later in the year for current generation consoles.
