Six more games are being added to the Video Game Hall of Fame, after last year’s first six entries.
Narrowed down from thousands of games and a finalists list of fifteen games, the six newest entries are Grand Theft Auto III, The Legend of Zelda, The Oregon Trail, The Sims, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Space Invaders. Factors taken into account when choosing a game are length of the game’s popularity, significance worldwide, and its influence in popular culture.
There are now 12 titles in the Video Game Hall of Fame, with the first six being Doom (1993), Pac-Man, Pong, Super Mario Bros., Tetris, and World of Warcraft.
