Ubisoft CEO says streaming is the future
In the digital age that we live in, many people hardly own any more physical DVD's, CD's, and in some cases, video game discs. With markets like Steam it is becoming more normal than ever for most of your games to be streamed rather than owned in a physical format. Ubisoft CEO seems to be counting on this trend.In a recent earning's presentation, the CEO Yves Guillemot stated that he believed streaming was the future and traditional consoles would be a thing of the past. This, however, would not be the case if companies successfully develop consoles that continue to push the industry forward. As Ubisoft's CEO said, "Now on the console side, we expect there will be new consoles that are going to make this market continue to grow and we feel it’s… We’ll still have another generation of consoles before we have new types of consoles coming to the market."
