Naughty Dog has outlined the multiplayer downloadable content that will join Uncharted 4 after the game is released next week.
In a post on the PlayStation Blog, lead game designer at Naughty Dog, Robert Coburn, confirmed that all future maps and modes will be included with Uncharted 4 at no additional cost, as well as all vanity and gameplay in-game store items will be unlockable through gameplay.
Coburn added that Naughty Dog had a “long process” to determine how to include DLC in Uncharted 4 and revealed that the company came up with a few “core philosophies” for it.
- Fairness First:To ensure players are on an “even playing field,” all DLC will be able to be unlocked through the in-game currency, known as Relics.
- An Evolving Experience :Naughty Dog will keep Uncharted 4 multiplayer fresh by releasing new maps, modes and items for free.
- DLC Accessible to Everyone: There is no DLC that is restricted to any one group of people.
- Unified Community: Naughty Dog wants to make sure that community is not divided, confirming that all maps and modes released will arrive for all on the same day.
The first DLC pack is expected to arrive this summer, with additional drops following in fall 2016, winter 2016 and finally in spring 2017. For more about Uncharted 4’s multiplayer modes and how the game’s DLC economy will work, check out the PlayStation Blog.
