After the release of the Wii U, the console and Nintendo struggled extensively with garnering third party support for the device. However, publisher Electronic Arts was one of the most outspoken when it came to refusing to offer games for the system.
Yet the two may become business partners again when it comes to the release of Nintendo’s upcoming system, NX.
EA’s executive vice president Patrick Söderlund revealed the possibility when recently asked about the chances of the publisher’s upcoming title, Battlefield 1, coming to NX.
“I personally and the company are huge fans of Nintendo; they’re the reason why I started making games,” Söderlund said.“We’re in constant communication with them and when they come to market [with] something… and if it makes sense for us, we’ll be there.”
If Battlefield 1 does arrive on the Nintendo NX, it doesn’t necessarily mean a fairytale ending for the two: EA initially supported the Wii U with multiple titles before abandoning the console completely.
