Studio Wildcard, the developers behind ARK: Survival Evolved, have announced that an upcoming update will add the ability to fish into the game. Players of ARK will know that currently, the only way to get fish is to dive into the water, axe in hand, and go get it yourself, but the dangers of carnivorous fish are always prevalent. Hopefully, the ability to fish will mitigate the danger.
Revealing the update on the Steam forum page, Studio Wildcard explains, “As the ARK continues to evolve throughout its development process, something we’ve wanted to do is to make sure that we’re able to introduce new features and gameplay mechanics that are not only beneficial and enjoyable to you as survivors, but also add to your immersive experience. Better grab your gear cause this July you’ll be able to take to the seas and try your hand at catching a fish!”
Wildcard has also announced new features that will be coming in the future such as Aquatic and Amphibious mating, procedurally generated ARKs, underwater dungeons, support for DirectX 12 and more creatures for players to hunt or tame.
Though the patch isn’t expected to hit until July 28, you can check out the full patch notes for the update here.
