Firaxis has released a first-look video on England, one of the civs to appear in Sid Meier’s Civilization VI. The spotlight reveals England’s new leader as Queen Victoria, replacing Queen Elizabeth from Civilization V.
The English special ability is called “British Museum.” It offers more artifact slots for museums and each museum gives more archaeologists.
Two unique units were also shown for England. The Sea Dog, a unique naval unit, acts as a privateer that can capture enemy ships. Red Coats, the unique land unit, are stronger when fighting away from the capital and can disembark without using a movement point.
To add on to its naval strength, England has a unique district called the Royal Navy Dockyard. It gives a bonus movement to ships built there, bonus gold for dockyards on other continents, and bonus Great Admiral points.
Along with the new footage, educational descriptions of Queen Victoria and her units are listed on the official Civilization website. “Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, Empress of India and Defender of the Faith, Queen Victoria was heiress presumptive at a tender young age. Less than a month after her 18th birthday, her uncle, King William IV passed away, and Victoria became Queen.”
Civilization VI launches October 21st, 2016 for PC.
