Flaming Fowl Studios, the team behind the card battle game Fable Fortune, has decided to end its Kickstarter campaign early. However, the game’s future isn’t bleak. Quite the opposite, as a matter of fact.
After securing additional funding, the studio now plans to go straight into building a closed beta for the game.
“With the immediate future of Fable Fortune now secure, we have taken the decision to end our Kickstarter campaign early to focus on releasing a Closed Beta build as quickly as possible,” the developer explains. “As we’ve always stated, we want to make this game with your help, your feedback and your input. We have huge plans for Fortune and we know that whatever happens in the future, it all started with our already incredible community.”
The alpha for the game will remain live to the KickStarter backers while the team works on the beta.
At the time of its cancellation, the Kickstarter had over 1,500 patrons and had raised around £59,000, although it appeared unlikely that it would reach its target goal of £250,000.
Fable Fortune is a Fable themed collectible card game, which features co-op and PvP modes. The game is set in the “whimsical” world of Albion.
Those interested in the beta can sign up on the studio’s website.
