It looks like you won’t have to wait too long to explore the vast world of Fallout 4 in virtual reality. According to Bethesda, Fallout 4 VR will release for the HTC Vive in 2017.
Taking to their official website, Vice President of Marketing & PR Pete Hines states, “Since we first showed off modern VR with DOOM 3 BFG at E3 2012, we have dedicated ourselves to the technology, constantly pushing ourselves forward.” Bethesda is aiming for the cutting edge of VR by providing gamers with an immersive experience and engaging gameplay.
Hines then goes into further details about Fallout 4 for VR and how Bethesda feels that VR will give gamers a whole new experience. “We think that VR is the perfect fit for truly immersive games like our massive open-world RPGs,” Hines says. The current demo of the game gives players the opportunity to explore the world of Fallout 4, use the game’s Pip-Boy, and even interact with Dogmeat, all in full virtual reality. “If you thought Survival Mode was an intense Fallout experience… you ain’t seen nothing yet.”
Bethesda announced that Fallout 4 VR will be coming to HTC Vive in 2017 at this year’s E3 press conference. The company showed off VR experiences for DOOM and Fallout which features idTech 6’s next gen technology.
