Fallout 4’s dialogue system “didn’t work as well,” says Todd Howard
Fallout 4's dialogue system may not have been the best part of the game, according to the game's director and executive producer Todd Howard, who recently revealed it “didn’t work as well” as hoped.“Obviously, the way we did some dialogue stuff, that didn’t work as well,” Howard said to GameSpot. “I know the reasons we tried that [were in order] to make a nice interactive conversation, but [it was] less successful than other things in the game.”
Fallout 4’s dialogue system may not have been the best part of the game, according to the game’s director and executive producer Todd Howard, who recently revealed it “didn’t work as well” as hoped.
“Obviously, the way we did some dialogue stuff, that didn’t work as well,” Howard said to GameSpot. “I know the reasons we tried that [were in order] to make a nice interactive conversation, but [it was] less successful than other things in the game.”
Howard noted that Bethesda often takes multiple risks when it comes to developing and trying new things in their titles.
“I think our fans are used to it over time, that we do like to try new things. And we’ll have some successes, you know I think the shooting in Fallout 4 is really good, I think it plays really well,” he said.
Fallout 4’s next DLC was revealed at the Bethesda E3 press conference this past week, where Nuka-World is expected to launch across all platforms in July.
