Revealed last E3, Ubisoft’s competitive sword fighting game For Honor features three factions. While we’ve seen the medieval knights and Japanese samurai in action, we have yet to see the Vikings. It appears that’s about to change however.
The teaser is only a few seconds long, but its still more than enough to get exited about. Showing the sail and bow of a Viking longboat, the trailer simply says, “They’re coming.”
As usual, Ubisoft is hosting an E3 conference again this year, scheduled for Monday, June 13, at 1PM PT. With the game rumored to release either late 2016 or early 2017, expect For Honor to feature prominently in the showcase.
Drawing heavily from MOBAs, For Honor pits players against each other on battlefields filled with fighting AI controlled soldiers. As the battle rages on, players compete for control points around the map. Using what Ubisoft is calling “Art of Battle control system” sword fights become as much about blocking and predicting your enemy’s moves as it is about attacking.
“Carve a path of destruction through the battlefield in For Honor! Enter the chaos of a raging war as a bold Knight, brutal Viking, or mysterious Samurai, three of the greatest legendary warriors,” the game’s description reads. “For Honor is a fast-paced, competitive experience mixing skill, strategy, and team play with visceral melee combat.”
