Leading off Sony’s conference and setting quite the tone, God of War is back and it has a completely new direction from the rage-fuled hack-and-slash previous games.
Now nordic themed and with what looks like a sharp focus on narrative and presentation. Kratos has a son, and spends much of the demo teaching him to hunt. It is a quieter, more heartfelt take than fans might be used to. But the action comes hard and fast as Kratos takes on a troll. Wielding a magic ax while his son fires lighting bolts from his bow, there are still plenty of fantasy elements. And if that wasn’t enough, there is even a dragon.
Live music swelling behind the gameplay demo, Sony also announced that the composer of Battlestar Galactica and The Walking Dead is doing the music for the game. We don’t know a release date or even a release window, but as we find out more about God of War, you’ll find it right here on Gamespresso.
