Nintendo officially revealed The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at their E3 Treehouse live stream event today. A trailer was shown during the presentation, revealing a few new interesting details about the game.
In the footage, we see Link doing activities like hunting, fishing, and cooking. The game also shows Link’s ability to scale different terrain like walls, cliffs, and trees. New items to the series also appeared, including a glider, an ax, a spear, and a new armored suit.
A mysterious voice was featured, calling out to our hero and saying, “Open your eyes,” and “Wake up Link.” This inclusion hints at the possibility of voice acting in Breath of the Wild.
At the end of the trailer a familiar weapon in Link’s arsenal revealed itself, the Master Sword. However, the Blade of Evil’s Bane has a more rustic and muddy appearance than in previous games. Its new look is also featured in the game’s logo.
Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aimé explained the game will be massive, the largest Zelda yet. The story, characters, and further details are planned to be discussed later. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is set to be Nintendo’s main focus at this year’s E3 and will be playable to those attending the event.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will release on Wii U and NX next year.
