The more we learn and see from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the more it is turning out to be a perfect title in the series. Nintendo has shown us how the latest installment is truly breaking away from usual conventions. Yet, it has gone back to the original to inspire players.
Those who are familiar with the original Legend of Zelda, and other memorable titles for the NES, will remember the feeling of turning on a game and being given very little direction. This leads to players having to explore the world, but more importantly, it gives players freedom. This is further emphasized by the fact that your view off the first large cliff in the game is made to reflect an image of Link looking out from a cliff in the original Legend of Zelda booklet. While there may be a place on the map to eventually go, there are an infinite number of paths to take there. You can go straight for it, or walk around the environment and gather items to prepare yourself for what’s to come as much as possible.
This is the same idea for the story behind Breath of the Wild as well. The more you look around the land, the more hints you will have as to what happened in the past. You will find also find out more about yourself and your destiny along the way.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be released for Wii U and the Nintendo NX.
