Mass Effect: Andromeda made an appearance at the EA Play conference today with more details and a behind the scenes look at what’s to come. Although an official trailer was shown at the event, EA plans to reveal more information this Fall.
In Mass Effect: Andromeda you are the alien. You’ll explore new planets, meet new species, and find new technology in the hopes of building “a new home for humanity.” The game promises a bigger adventure and more player freedom with an all new in-game engine. Andromeda was shown running on the Frostbite engine, which game’s like Battlefront and Mirror’s Edge Catalyst have utilized.
The footage revealed at the conference reveals lush environments, an ape-like creature charging at the player, and the return of the Mako. An Asari character was also shown, touting the game’s improved graphics and facial expression capture. The end of the video shows a female human waking up and saying, “We made it.”
Bioware recently revealed that Mass Effect: Andromeda was delayed to 2017. Andromeda is the follow-up to the original Mass Effect trilogy, which will take players outside of the Milky Way and assume the role of an all new protagonist.
