There’s only so many times you can say a word before it starts sounding odd, but to happen to a phrase? It turns out that Keiji Inafune isn’t done pushing back Mighty No. 9’s release date.
Developer Comcept has revealed that the Xbox 360 version of their action-platformer had some issues going through the certification process of being on the Xbox 360 store.
“There were issues regarding the publishing process for the Xbox 360 version of the game, and a certification bug was found in the final round of testing which is delaying the release of that version for several days,” the developer explained. “Our team has already re-submitted the build to Deep Silver (and to Microsoft), and we expect it to go gold within a few days if all goes according to plan.”
It doesn’t look like those waiting for the Xbox 360 version are missing out, though. Mighty No. 9 has already received mostly dismal review scores from almost every critic that’s reviewed the title, with few people finding many positives in the Mega Man spiritual successor.
For those that backed the project as Xbox 360 backers, Comcept has emailed backers Steam keys to the backers, allowing some of them to play the game while they wait.
As well, Mac and Linux players will have to wait a bit longer to release, as the game is still going through its final testing at Deep Silver. Being that the title was supposed to release in 2015, what’s a few more days to wait?
