We now have an idea of when Pokemon Go will officially release, as well as the price of the optional Pokemon Go Plus.
Pokemon Go will release sometime in July. The game will be free, and will be available on iOS and Android devices. Pokemon Go Plus will cost gamers $34.99.
Pokemon Go Plus is an optional device that can be worn on the wrist. The device allows players to capture Pokemon without having to pull out their phones, as the device will vibrate and flash whenever a Pokemon is nearby. By pushing the device’s single button, players can try to capture the Pokemon, with the device flashing blue if the capture was successful.
Nintendo has announced that not every feature for the upcoming title will be available at launch. Trading Pokemon will not be available when the game first releases, as Nintendo wants players to learn how to use the app and capture some Pokemon before they can trade with others. No information on how players will be able to catch legendary Pokemon has been given, though it has been reported that special events will be held in different cities to allow players to catch rare Pokemon. Evolving Pokemon will be quite different than other titles. Catching multiple Pokemon will net players candy, which can be used to level up and evolve their Pokemon.
Pokemon Go will be available for Android and iOS this July. It is not the only Pokemon title to release this year. Also coming this year is Pokemon Sun and Moon, which will release on the 3DS on November 18th.
