Overwatch’s new character Ana is now live on the PlayStation 4 version of the game.
Ana was revealed earlier this month by developer Blizzard as a new sniper support character. Ana can restore the health of her allies from a distance, while simultaneously dealing damage to the opposing team. She also uses Biotic Grenades, creating an area that will heal teammates and injure opponents in its area of effect.
Additionally, Ana can fire a sleeping dart to make enemies unconscious, and her ultimate, Nano Boost, grants one ally faster movement, increased damage, and resistance to enemy attacks.
“After being out of the fight for several years, one of Overwatch’s founding members is returning,” Blizzard says regarding the new character. “Introducing Ana—a battle-scarred veteran who supports her teammates from a distance using a unique and highly specialized collection of weapons.” Ana has yet to join the Xbox One version of the game.
Ana is just one small part of a rather large update that came to Overwatch this week. The full patch notes were released by Blizzard, revealing that other characters, such as Mercy, D.Va and McCree, have received some major adjustments in the way they are balanced and how they play.
In other Overwatch news, a recent bug has been affecting a small amount of players’ statistics on the PlayStation 4 version of the game, but Blizzard has recovered most of the lost progress for those affected.
