We now have a release window for Battlefield 1’s open beta.
In a Twitch stream interview with Cmdkrieger, Battlefield community manager for Germany, Sebastian Moritz, stated that Battlefield 1’s open beta will occur “shortly after” this year’s Gamescom. It was also revealed that Battlefield Insiders will be able to get up to three days of early access to the beta. Finally, Moritz confirmed that Rush Mode will be in the final game, along with the Conquest, Domination, and Operations modes.
Gamescom will take place between August 17th and 21st. The event will be held in Cologne, Germany. This means that Battlefield 1’s open beta should take place in late August / early September.
Battlefield 1 was confirmed earlier this year. The game will feature a World War I setting, and will feature the largest maps in the Battlefield franchise. Players will be able to traverse these maps on horses, planes, tanks, and more. New vehicle classes, such as biplane pilots and tank drivers, are being introduced. These classes will gain bonuses when they are utilizing their given vehicles. Large player-controlled vehicles, called Behemoths, are also being introduced in the title.
Battlefield 1 will release on October 21st. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
